72 Years ago, on this day, soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division crossed the river Waal in small boats. Their goal was to capture the two bridges that cross the river. 48 Soldiers lost their life that afternoon.
In Remembrance
Today in Holland we remember those who lost their lives while fighting for our freedom. In this war cemetery almost 1500 soldiers, who died in combat during World War II, are buried. Most of them are from the United Kingdom.
