Water is

Water isToday I decided to give DXO Optics Pro a try. And I have to see that it does a great job on the raw files from Olympus. This image was developed using DXO Optics and did some final touches in Lightroom.

The nice thing about this new version of DXO Optics is that it can work together with Lightroom. You can import the images into Lightroom, then transfer the image to DXO Optics to develop the raw file there. And when you are finished you can send it back to Lightroom.

The trial is for vaild for 31 days. So for the next 30 days I will experiment more with this setup.

Belvédère

Belvédère, Nijmegen

This tower started its life as a watch tower in the 15th century. During its time the tower was made higher and had different functions. These days it is restaurant. From the tower you have a good view on the river and also on the bridge. But that was build many centuries later. It is one of the few really old buildings that still exist in my city.

Sunset in Tenerife

In august we had a holiday in Tenerife, Spain. And during one of our evening walks I took this photo of the sunset. Did a little bit of post processing in Lightroom.

Ooypoort

Last weekend, on Kingsday, I had a walk again the city and taking some photo’s. Near the river the built a new bridge for pedestrians. The bridge is called Ooypoort. The dutch word “poort” means gate. And this bridge functions like a gate to a natural park. So I thought I would be a nice area to make photo’s. This is one of the photo’s I made.

A view on Rio de Janeiro

Last January I visited Rio de Janeiro with my grilfriend. We stayed there only a weekend so we did spend most of the visiting the big tourist attractions. This include Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) and the statue of Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer).

This photo was taken when we went to Pão de Açúcar. To get there you take the cable car. I took this photo when from inside the cable car. I found a place where I could stick the camera outside the window. On the picture you see the neighborhoods Bondinho and Botafogo. And far in the back you still can see the statue of Cristo Redentor.

Pure

I made this photo last month. The weather was bad. So I decided to have a little bit of fun inside with the Olympus 60mm f2.8 macro and the Olympus PEN E-P5. Wanted to do some type of product shot.

Used one Canon flash with a grid on the left. Camera on manual focus and exposure (1/320 sec @ f8). Took some time to get the exposure the way I liked it. Tweaked the image a bit in Lightroom.

Framed

This photo I took last January in São Paulo. We were in the city center and on Praça da Sé are many sculptures. When we passed this sculpture I noticed that it could look nice when I used to frame the cities skyline that is behind it. I think I worked nice.

Camera: Olympus PEN E-P5
Lens: 17mm f1.8
Post processed in Lightroom 5 and Perfect Effects 8 from OnOne Software.
